Manage study material content

Switch to admin mode if not there already.

Select 'Program Management' from Admin role selection pull down menu next to the company logo on top-left corner.

Upload content

  1. Click ‘Subject’ from side menu.
  2. Select the subject.
  3. Click ‘Study Material’ for the subject.
  4. Click ‘Add Chapter’ link to make a new chapter. To break a chapter into multiple topics, click ‘Add Topic’ link by expanding the chapter (click + for this). If you want to mark a chapter or topic as special you can do so here. By marking it special you can control if it should be visible to the learners of a course which uses this subject through the appropriate Learning Tool selection in the course.
  5. While you are inputting a new chapter or a new topic under a chapter, you can upload content to this by going to the ‘Content’ panel and selecting a content type after clicking the 'Add' button.
  6. Permitted content types are: documents, audio, video, package, and external urls.
  7. Permitted file types and file size limitations are mentioned on the page.
  8. Packaged contents are contents created by using Authoring Tools like Ispringsolutions, Articulate, Captivate etc. These tools create a bunch of files and folders, you need to zip them together into a zip file (not RAR) and upload. You should also mention the header file to start the content play-back. Typically they are either index.html or player.html. The best way to know the header file name is to find out which file, when double-clicked starts the content play-back when the entire folder and files are on your desk-top/laptop.
  9. We have disabled Flash content from being uploaded because of gradual elimination of flash content play-back in devices given by global manufacturers.

Uploading Video contents

1. We have decided to use Vimeo and YouTube as the default video storage and streaming providers for our customers.

2. If you do not have your own Vimeo/YouTube account, use the video upload option in the content upload page of Quampus. This will upload your video file and store it in and stream it from the Vimeo account of Quampus. This mode cannot be used if you are using white-label feature of Quampus.

3. Alternatively you can use your own Vimeo or YouTube account. If you are planning to use white-label feature, you will have to use your own Vimeo/YouTube account. Those who are not worried about their content being available to public in general can use YouTube, but those, who want to secure their content from general public eye must use Vimeo.

4. When using your own Vimeo account, note down the Vimeo video id and when using your own YouTube account, copy the video/audio link meant for embedding purpose. Then, use the 'External url' option provided in the 'Add' button in content upload page of Quampus and select either the Vimeo video url or the YouTube video url sub-option as the case may be. Fill up the details by inputting either the Vimeo id or the required part of the YouTube url and your video is available for streaming to your enrolled learners.

5. As a thumb rule, if your additional video storage requirement is more than 600GB and you want to protect your videos from public eye, you are advised to use your own Vimeo account.

How to secure your Vimeo video

  1. Log in to your Vimeo account.
  2. Go to 'Settings' in the 'Profile' menu.
  3. Select menu item 'Videos' and under it 'Embed Presets'.
  4. Add in the white-list domains. You may add your web domain url or your Quampus white-label domain as other white-list domains to play your videos/audios from those web domains also.
